As a dedicated runner with a passion for exploring new places, I have  made running marathons in as many countries as possible my mission. My journey eventually led me to focus on Africa, where I discovered that a few nations, including Equatorial Guinea, are yet to host their own marathon events. Given the long-standing relationship between Equatorial Guinea and my country, I saw an opportunity to bring the excitement of marathon running to this beautiful nation.

Determined to turn this vision into reality, I reached out to the relevant stakeholders in Equatorial Guinea and was warmly welcomed. Without hesitation, I packed my bags and traveled to Malabo to lay the groundwork for what would become a historic event. After extensive planning and collaboration, we are now proud to present the Malabo Marathon.

This marathon is not just another race; it’s the result of a shared dream to bring the joy of running to new horizons, and I am thrilled to see it come to life in such a vibrant and scenic setting.ttable experience, with a route that winds between lush, tropical vegetation and the stunning Atlantic coast.
